I noticed what I believed to be a red tail hawk perched in a tree in my backyard. Although I was trying to improve my picture as I moved closer, I couldn't get in a position to eliminate the clothesline before the bird flew off. Wildlife photography involves a lot of patience!
I just found out yesterday that the website host I have been using, Geocities, is spaming visitors to my website with pop-up ads. Also, viewers are getting bandwidth timed-out notices if there are too many hits on the site at once. I guess anything for free has it catches. Ouch! Therefore, I am in the process of securing space at another domain so this no longer happens. It shouldn't take too long.
I had two assignments on Tuesday, one was to meet with three writers of the a play, "The Way of the Wiseguy" based on the book, Donny Brasco. Bobby Moresco, co-writer and producer of the Oscar-nominated Crash, shared lunch at Gene & Georgetti's with Joseph "Donny Brasco" Pistone and actor Leo Rossi. What a cool way to spend the afternoon!
After that, I was assigned to photograph the production of a new video by Ludacris, but the production fell behind schedule and I had to abandon the project. Alas...
The new website is up this afternoon! Please come by to visit! (Note, the "Art" and "Editorial" links are the same for now, I have to finish working them up.) www.richardachapman.com
I have been busy working on my new website. Although in transition, it will be a comprehensive compilation of photography examples about me. I think I have decided on the entry page, it should look something like this:
One of the links will take prospective brides and grooms to my wedding galleries. The finished page should look like this:
I will post the link when the new website becomes live. Thanks for visiting! Rich Chapman
Newspaper photojournalism and weddings are two photography passions in my life. I feel very blessed that I can apply my experience as a staff photographer for the Chicago Sun-Times, skill, and creativity to the bride and groom of today. Today's couples are asking for real pictures that tell the story of their special day. Lucky for all of us!
