A personal salute to Labor Day


I recently came across this portrait I made of Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer John H. White a few years back. He is the 2013 Lucie Foundation's Achievement in Photojournalism honoree, and the award reminds me of his tireless labor. His labor (of love) involves using a camera to preserve memories from yesterday, as well as continuing to tell the stories of our lives today and beyond. His influence and inspiration, I believe, propels us all to always reach higher, be curious, insightful, helpful, forgiving, and simply love one another.
